Lea is a graduate from Robert Morris University, where she received her bachelor's degree in Communications with a Sports Concentration. She is also a graduate of Luzerne County Community, where she received her associate's degree in Audio/Visual Communications. Currently, Lea is working as a Public Relations Assistant/ College Relations and Marketing Assistant at Luzerne County Community College.
Lea spent her time at RMU as a beat writer for RMU Sentry Media website and social media. During her involvement, she has covered men and women's NCAA and NEC ice hockey, soccer, lacrosse and softball. She has reported post game recaps, wrote game articles, stat strategies, analysis articles, feature stories on athletes and coaches, and created content for social media platforms. She also produced, directed, filmed and edited video packages, operated cameras during live sporting events and was a co-host on a softball podcast called "Liner to Left".
Prior to RMU, Lea spent time with LCCC-TV and WSFX-FM radio where she created her own internship at Luzerne County Community College. She wrote basketball, baseball and softball post game recaps for local newspapers, produced and edited TV and radio packages and promos, and was an In-Arena host for basketball games and baseball commentator. She has also planned, advertised and marketed for FOX56-TV for live basketball games through social media, television and radio. Lea's involvement with RMU Sentry Media, LCCC-TV and WSFX-FM provided her with valuable skills such as reporting, producing, directing and editing video and radio, operating basic camera skills and also creating social media content.
During the 2020 Pandemic, Lea went back to school taking classes in Public Relations, WordPress, Digital Marketing and Social Media Marketing. And in May of 2023, she became certified in Digital Marketing and Social Media Marketing. Currently, Lea works at Luzerne County Community College in Public Relations/ College Relations and Marketing. She assists with the creation of content on social media platforms and taking photographs of school events. Lea also assists with interviewing and writing pieces for school website.
Lea is also taking classes within the media industry, working on her editing skills, and staying up to date on current social media trends. In her free time, she enjoys baking, spending time with family and friends, watching sports, atending sporting events, reading, partaking in a pilates class, photography, and listening to a podcast.
